Margo is also a Reiki Master Teacher, a mentor, author, fine artist, non-denominational senior Pastor of LEWA (Light & Energy Workers Association) and a former English professor in the USA and Japan. Currently, Margo does wedding and family photography, conducts baby blessings/christenings, authored a Reiki textbook series, founded 2 lecture series, and co-founded 2 local, public Drum Circles over past 8 years (search Meetup.com).

Margo writes both non-fiction and fiction articles and books, and officiates weddings too! Pastor Margo holds a minor degree in developmental psychology from UNCG, and a Bachelor of Science degree in English from Appalachian State. She was also a public and private schoolteacher, certified autism life coach for the Psychiatry department at UNC-Chapel Hill, certified Great Life Coach, and a Big Brothers Big Sisters case manager in Greensboro NC.

Born in suburban North Carolina to two schoolteachers, Margo’s parents were agnostic (“undecided”) so she studied different religions as a young adult. Highly intuitive, she later sought out holistic healing practices, resulting in “Margo Sensei” completed her mastery of all 4 degrees of Usui/Tibetan Reiki by 2003 after she returned from teaching English in Japan in 2002.

More than 350 Reiki students graduated her classes, while enjoying the benefits of her diverse work, teachings, and empowering ways. In 2004 Pastor Margo founded a popular, national, multi-faith church, Light & Energy Workers Association, which hosted holistic wellness fairs, Red Cross blood drives, children’s charity drives, animal welfare benefits, Free Hugs events, holiday gifting charity, founded an award-winning interactive public lecture series in Greensboro NC, and hosted screenings of spiritual films such as “Celestine Prophecy”. LEWA continues to evolve with a thriving membership of 240+ non-denominational Clergy, worldwide.

In 2006, Margo co-founded an outdoor retreat center in Virginia, but returned to North Carolina in 2008 to care for aging parents. Margo then met and married her soulmate and second husband David, in a unique wedding on 10-10-10. They soon moved to the Carolina coast where they co-host a weekly drum circle on Sunset Beach itself, and teach Reiki classes in autumn and winter times. They are foodies, edit thousands of photographs monthly, and spoil their four-legged feline monarch (a sassy rescue cat in a furry tuxedo).

Since 2013, Margo has shot over 1,800 weddings, written 2,000+ wedding vows with clients, officiates for all types of couples, authors Reiki textbooks (she has 4 other books in progress too), loves her 6 godchildren, 2 nephews & 1 stepdaughter, is copy writer for this website and several others, keeps up our social media, and her amazing photography has made the cover of 4 wedding magazines!
