Pastor Margo Sears is a professional photographer, former English professor, Reiki Master Teacher, certified Great Life coach, published author, a popular spiritual leader, fine artist and a lover of dark chocolate, all animals, salty humor, Facebook, and Asian food.

In 2004, Margo’s students, clients, and colleagues literally begged her to found a non-denominational spiritual organization for them. So she did. Today, it thrives as L.E.W.A. Light and Energy Workers Association, based in North Carolina, and Pastor Margo has over 200 clergy under her. Since 2003, Margo certified over 320 Reiki students (110+ of them to Master levels) nationwide and locally, solo and with her husband and soulmate, David. She is also a mentor, certified Great Life Coach, a journalist, and taught college English in North Carolina and Japan. Moreover, Margo has done professional photography and photo restoration/enhancement since 2005, and amateur shooting for decades. Her family has several influential photographers: her father, Joe Shankland (1928-2013), was a professional photographer and art teacher in Italy and the U.S. Her uncle, David M. Spear (1937- ), is a nationally famous photographer with works hanging in the Guggenheim and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Another uncle is a professor of journalism at the University of Richmond, VA. Her grandparents, Russell and Mimi Spear, were lifetime newspaper editors, journalism photographers and writers. Margo’s great-grandfather was famous American novelist, Sherwood Anderson (1876-1941) (mentor and publisher to Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and William Faulkner, etc).

Margo shoots a Nikon D7000 DSLR camera, sometimes a weatherproof Fujifilm S1 DSLR camera, and edits with Adobe Lightroom CC and PortraitPro programs… and a few others too.

In her very rare spare time, Margo also a social and business maven / networker, a stepmother, and a “co-parent” of a rescued sassy cat, Loki. She is also a popular public speaker, entertainer, life coach, a writer, fine artist with works for sale, and a great cook.
